Dear Camp Families,

We hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and had a happy new year. It won't be long now before the camp season is upon us. Opening Day is less than 5 months away.

Now is the time for our camp families to start the process of completing the necessary camper forms. The information you provide goes a long way to ensure the safety and welfare of your child. All of the required camp forms can be found in your CampMinder account by clicking here and are also listed below.

• Additional Options (Private Tennis Lessons and Linens Rentals)

• Bunk Request

• Camper and Family Profile

• Camper Medication Letter

• Emergency Medical Authorization Form (for EpiPens and inhalers)

• Health History (completed by parent)

• Parent Authorization Form

• Physician and Immunization Health Form (completed by a doctor)

• Transportation Form

Two forms that we always get questions about are the Camper Profile and the Bunk Request Form. The Camper Profile is important for both new and returning campers. It gives us important information about your child so our staff can provide them with a safe, successful, and rewarding experience. Feel free to call either one of us, if there is anything that you would like to discuss. The information shared is always confidential.

The Bunk Request Form allows campers to request to be placed in the same cabin with another camper who is the same gender and age. If the request is mutual, then we are able to honor it. Cabins are formed on a rolling basis. So submit your request as soon as possible. Bunk requests won't be accepted for campers who aren't enrolled yet. Currently, there is a waiting list for Session 1 (June 27 - July 10) and Session 2 (July 11 - July 24). So, if you have friends who haven't enrolled their child yet, or are considering North Star for the first time, encourage them to enroll or contact us right away.

In the spring, we will host Zoom webinars that focus on getting your family ready for the camp season. We will give you important tips on packing, explain the process for ordering medicine, review how to access our photo gallery, talk about how to send Bunk Notes, and many other topics. When questions come up before then, we are always available by email or by calling us in the office at 207-998-4777. Don't hesitate to reach out at your convenience.

New Tennis Courts & Private Tennis Lessons

One of the big projects for this offseason is the construction of two tennis courts. They will be right next to our existing courts. Tennis is one of the most popular sports activities and we want to make the activity available to as many campers as possible. Below are pictures of the courts being built.

In addition to our regular tennis classes throughout the day, Private Tennis Lessons with our tennis coaches are offered as well. Lessons are $45 per hour. You can register your child for as little as 1 lesson or as many as you want. We are excited that Coach Chris is back for another summer leading our tennis program.

You can register your child for Private Tennis Lessons on the Additional Options Form in your CampMinder account. Last summer the tennis lessons sold out, so don't delay signing up.

Typically this time of year, you can also register for Horseback Riding and Golf Lessons on the Additional Options Form. Since both activities are off property, and final guidelines for COVID-19 haven't been established yet, we are holding off with those registrations for now.

Booking Flights to Boston and Portland

As a reminder, if you are flying to and/or from camp, you must confirm your flights with the camp office before purchasing tickets. Arrivals at Boston Logan Airport occur the day before the regularly scheduled check-in day.

Arrival days in Boston are on the following Saturdays only - June 26, July 10, and July 24. Departure days for flights out of Boston are the same as the last day of each session - July 10, July 24, and August 14.

If you are flying into Portland Jetport contact the office as well to confirm your flights before booking. Flights into and out of Portland should be booked on the actual arrival and departure date for each session.

Camp Clothing

It's never too early to start purchasing your camp gear and ordering your camp clothes. Click here to view the packing list. Every camper is required to have an Orange Trip T-Shirt, Green Logo T-Shirt, Green Logo Shorts, and CNS Sweatshirt.

There's also a wide selection of optional clothes including jackets, pajamas, and socks, in addition to essentials like duffel bags and bedding.
